Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about Florida solar programs and FPL rate increases.
Why are FPL electricity rates increasing so much?
The Florida Public Service Commission approved a four-year settlement (Nov 2025) raising FPL's base rates — a typical 1,000 kWh bill rises from $134.14 to $136.64 in 2026, with additional increases projected through 2029. Solar protects homeowners by replacing variable utility rates with a fixed system payment.
How does the $0-down solar lease work?
Under our $0-down program, Common Ground designs, permits, and installs top-tier solar equipment with zero upfront costs. You simply pay a lower, locked-in monthly payment that replaces most or all of your electric bill.
What happens if a hurricane hits my solar panels?
All Common Ground installations are engineered and permitted for Florida's high-velocity hurricane zones (up to 160 MPH wind ratings). Panels are backed by a comprehensive 25-year warranty.
Is there any obligation when I book a consultation?
